Orangeburg Man Grabs Woman By Neck, Threatens To Kill Her, Police Say

A local man surrendered himself into police custody following an investigation into a domestic incident where he allegedly choked a woman and threatened to kill her, according to investigators with the Orangetown Police Department.

Orangeburg resident Carl Canzona, 30, turned himself into police on Wednesday, March 28 following an investigation into a domestic incident the previous day, where he allegedly assaulted his female victim.

According to police, Canzona allegedly grabbed his female victim around the neck, threatened to kill her and pushed her to the ground while they were at his home.

After turning himself in, Canzona was charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal obstruction of breathing and second-degree harassment, a violation. Following arraignment, Canzona was remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of bail. He is due back in Orangetown Justice Court later this year to answer the charges.
